There’s good posh (Stephen Fry) and there’s bad posh (Paris Hilton), but thankfullyJOHNNY FLYNN seems to be something of a lovable rogue.
Born in South Africa and brought up in Britain, the 24-year-old has already made a remarkable number of career moves for a man so young: Shakespearian thespian, check… Holby City bit-part actor, check… voice-overs for IKEA, check.
More recently, though, he has reinvented himself as a thoroughly talented and accessible folk-pop musician with his four-strong backing band The Sussex Wit, which includes the sweet harmonies of his younger sister Lillie.
Together they have already created their fair share of toe-tapping songs to savour and that would strongly suggest Johnny’s forthcoming debut album A Larum (released on May 26) might well turn out to be one of the year’s best. Good job, young chap.
