20 songs to discover in 2012

From Felix Baumgartner’s space dive to the London Olympics, it’s been an inspiring, enduring year in so many ways. But every great story needs a great soundtrack (or, at the very least, a video montage) so here are the 20 songs from 2012 that did it for me.

By some happy accident, the list contains 10 Scottish and 10 non-Scottish acts, and I’ve deliberately ignored those already on The Pop Cop’s top 10 albums of 2012 as these songs deserve the spotlight all to themselves. Press play, go discover.
